LIPOSUCTION

Liposuctions Patients From Dallas areas trust Dr. Vennemeyer

Liposuction is surgery. It's invasive and the procedure should not be taken lightly. Every patient going through plastic surgery should understand the risks, the rewards and the options before embarking on any surgical procedure.

In many cases, liposuction is the right solution. If, for example, you have difficulty getting rid of fat in certain areas of your body despite weight loss and exercise. Liposuction is used to target resistant pockets of fat to sculpt your body into a better shape. Once the excess fat is removed, the skin must retract and tighten for the best possible result to occur. Liposuction can be used to treat many areas throughout the body. Consult with us first and consider your options. We would love to talk with you.

TYPES OF LIPOSUCTION

Liposuction works by sucking out fat through a long thin vacuum tube, called a cannula. This is essentially the same for every type of liposuction. The difference is in the way the fat is broken up into pieces for removal.

Traditional Liposuction

Traditional liposuction cuts off tiny pieces of fat as it is sucked into the tiny holes on the tip of the cannula.

Laser Lipo

Laser lipo uses heat to melt the fat so that it can be sucked out.

Ultrasonic Liposuction

Ultrasonic liposuction uses sound waves to break up the fat.

Varieties of laser and ultrasonic liposuction are marketed under various trade names. Claims are often made that these newer, sexier devices provide better results and improved skin tightening. We are not aware of any scientific studies that show these newer devices actually give people better results. In fact, there are studies that show they produce pretty much the same results as traditional liposuction. The most important factors in getting a good result are the surgeon and your skin's ability to tighten after your procedure. That's why so many patients have trusted Dr. Vennemeyer.

Plastic surgeons use the liposuction machine they like best. We recommend that you pick the plastic surgeon, not the machine. Find someone you are confident will take good care of you and let them handle the rest.  Consult with your practitioners before you undergo any procedure and make sure that you are comfortable and confident that the doctor you are working with is competent and experienced.

No matter what liposuction procedure you might be considering, it's worth a call to discuss your options with Dr. Vennemeyer. Call us today! You won't regret it.
