If you experience back and neck pain from large breasts or simply want smaller, perkier breasts for cosmetic reasons, you may benefit from breast reduction surgery. The procedure is similar to a breast lift, except breast tissue is removed in addition to skin to make your breasts both smaller and perkier. The improved size and shape may help you fit into clothes better, exercise more easily and reduce back and neck strain.
The scars from breast reduction surgery are typically in an "inverted T" pattern to allow for maximal improvement in shape. The procedure can usually be performed in an outpatient setting, allowing you to go home the same day.
Where are Breast Reduction Scars Located?
The scar from breast reduction surgery is around the areola (the more pigmented area around your nipples) and down to form an upside down "T" pattern.
Can I Breastfeed after a Breast Reduction?
Yes. It is still possible to breastfeed after a breast reduction in most cases. Since we remove some of the glandular tissue, less milk is typically produced. This may require supplementation with formula.
What will my Cup Size be After my Breast Reduction?
It is impossible to predict your exact cup size after your breast reduction, but we try to get you as close to your requested size as possible.
