What You Need to Know About Bridal Makeovers

As a plastic surgeon in Southlake, I regularly work with women who want a more proportional shape in clothing. Breast augmentation is one of the most popular procedures I perform. Both brides and non-brides have a difficult time finding clothing that fits their breasts. Women are increasingly turning to plastic surgery to look their best in wedding dresses and honeymoon bikinis.

Most brides-to-be want to look natural and proportional. Most dresses and clothing fit C cup breasts well, giving a natural proportion. That being said, dresses can be altered to fit the breast size you prefer. I have found that my patients are happiest with their final breast size when they choose their breast implants using sizers.

Sizers work really well since cup size is inconsistent. Every manufacturer is a little different first of all. Second, cup size is proportional to your chest size. For example, a 34C breast is smaller than a 36C breast even though they are both “C” cups.

Our sizing system allows you to try on some of your favorite clothes with different sized implants to see what size you like best. We place the sizer implants under two tight sports bras to get an idea of what their true natural appearance will be. Next, you can try on clothes in front of our giant dressing mirrors. This is a really great way to see what your final proportion would be.

Feel free to bring in your wedding dress when trying sizers!

A Word About Recovery

You always want to have plenty of time to recover prior to your wedding. If you don’t set aside enough time for recovery, you may not look the way you want. And you could be in some pain too!

In an ideal world, you’ll have your breast augmentation procedure performed 2-3 months prior to your wedding. 6 weeks is our absolute minimum recommendation, but you should have even more time than that. This way, you get plenty of time to recover from your procedure so you don’t have to worry at all about how your wedding day will go.

Are you ready for breast augmentation? Schedule a consultation at least 4-6 months prior to your wedding…just to be safe. That gives us enough time to make sure we can schedule you in among all our other patients too.

Breast augmentation is often combined with other procedures to help you get the best shape possible. Liposuction is a powerful way to sculpt your waist and hips, helping you to get a more ideal balance between your breasts and midsection.
